Strike a Light’s ‘Ale and Hearty’ Project focuses on the history of brewing in Lewes. Some interesting events coming up include a number of Octoberfeast talks. They are also encouraging people to share their memories of ale and brewing in the region by running chat sessions, and are appealing for people who would like to be interviewed by oral historians.

The Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) is Britain’s major voluntary adult education organisation. It provides high quality learning opportunities for people of all ages who wish to continue studying throughout their lives through weekday courses and Saturday half-day schools.
The classes, given by professional lecturers at venues in Lewes, cover a wide variety of subjects, offering participants the chance to acquire new knowledge and to meet others with similar interests.
