Books for Christmas

If you are looking for Christmas gifts, how about some books about Lewes, published by the Lewes History Group, or by the Friends of Lewes?

These would be ideal for a friend or family member who grew up here but who has moved away, or for a newcomer, who has yet to learn what a truly special place it is.

Lewes History Group has published two new books in the ‘Lewes Street Stories’ series: ‘Mill Road, South Malling’, by Chris Taylor, and ‘Lewes Street Stories: Chapel Hill’ written by Mary Benjamin, Meg Griffiths and Shân Rose.

The Friends of Lewes book list includes Marietta Van Dyck’s latest collection of Lewes drawings, Kim Clark’s The Twittens, and her update of Leslie Davey’s The Street Names of Lewes. The Friends are offering seasonal discounts to their members: see details.
