10:00 AM – 3:45 PM at The Friends Centre Ship Street Brighton BN1 1AF

A study day run by the Regency Society of Brighton and Hove to consider aspects of how Brighton and Hove developed the tourist economy: the seaside holiday, the attractions on offer, the impact of the railway, the workers in developing industries, women breaking new ground in medicine, and the towns’ image and reputation. All the speakers use recent research to shed new angles on this fascinating resort during the Victorian and Edwardian period.
The day takes place from 10:00 AM – 3:45 PM at The Friends Centre, Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AF, in the historic Lanes near bus stops, Brighton Station and the sea.
Fee £25 for the day with coffee and tea included. No lunch.
Organised by Dr. Sue Berry who is seeking speakers with new research for future events.
