Historic England has digitised its Architectural Red Box Collection of photographs and drawings and made them available to view online.
The England’s Places Collection documents England’s built heritage, especially those buildings threatened or damaged by bombing during the Second World War. Images are from the 1850s to the early 1990s, and subjects include churches and country houses, historic buildings, modern architecture, street scenes, and village-scapes.
These photos cannot be downloaded, but you can order copies from Historic England.
