Joe from the University of Edinburgh will present a fresh understanding of the Battle of Lewes based on the history and theory of warfare in the medieval period.

Ian Everest: The Ouse Valley: its past life and times

Talk by Ian Everest illustrated using old photographs and cine film to offer a glimpse of some of the less well-known aspects of life in the Ouse valley between Lewes and the sea.

An event at The Keep, Falmer

Combining Lewes street history with music and song, this ‘make ‘em laugh, make ‘em cry’ show is based on stories of petty crime and scandal in late 19th-century Sun Street, researched by Frances Stenlake and read by Lewes Little Theatre actors.

The specially composed songs will be performed by leading members of the Lewes Saturday Folk Club – audience participation welcome!
