Lewes History Group

A festival  to mark the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Lewes in 2014 takes place in and around Lewes from May 3 to May 18.

For more than three years a community project based at Lewes Castle has been busy building interest in this early struggle for democracy in which a king was defeated.

The Battle of Lewes Project events will include costumed processions, enactments, dramas, talks, and much more.
