This project has been completed
The aim of the project is to assess the impact of the railways on the life of Lewes after the railways were first built – 1844 – 1846. The main focus in the initial stages is to scope out the issues that should be investigated in more detail as the project develops.
Time frame: The project started in February 2011. The aims are to have 1) identified the main aspects to the project, and 2) to outline what the project should aim to do in 2012, both by the end of 2011.
Initial findings presented at the Lewes History Group Meeting on 12 December 2011.
